1999 LAMBORGHINI DIABLO SV
Special order factory
color- Only 13,207 miles- $164,500 |
This spectacular color from Lamborghini
was a special factory optional paint. In 1999 all Lamborghini's were
imported through Exclusive Inc. They were the sole US distributor for
Lamborghini. The importer was Vic Keulyian who is still heavily
involved with Lamborghini and owns Orange County Lamborghini. This
special paint was an $11,000 option in 1999 and rarely ordered because
of the high cost. The paint is similar to the optional Pearl Yellow
and Pearl Orange on modern day Lamborghinis' regarding some
characteristics. The color will actually change "hues" depending on
lighting conditions.
The color appears as a stunning brilliant red, and then under direct
sunlight scenarios, you will experience beautiful pearlescent hues
with pinkish attributes. I have tried to display this gorgeous
exterior in the photos. I did find a photo from years past with the
two red colors side by side for comparison.
If you have any doubts about your masculinity, this Diablo IS NOT FOR
YOU. This "Lady Killer" SV will come standard with a "large stick" in
the bonnet to keep the girls at bay.
The SV Diablo has become a recent collector among Lamborghini
enthusiasts. The SV stands for "Sport Veloce" and was a "rear wheel
drive only" Diablo, as opposed to the AWD model. This means more
horsepower to the rear wheels, less moving parts, and much less wear
to the clutch and drivetrain components. This resulted in better
acceleration times for the Diablo.
There are other features unique to the SV model. The spoiler up front
has been uniquely sculpted for the SV. The "race inspired" intake
scoop is located toward the rear of the roof for better airflow to the
engine. This gives the car a very aggressive "European GT Look". The
"color keyed" rear carbon fiber spoiler is adjustable and came
standard from the factory on the SV model.
Deep dish "polished lipped" sport wheels really sets this unique
Diablo apart from the ordinary. The brake calipers have been color
matched and are nicely enhanced by the upgraded rotors and wheel
package.
The exhaust is fresh and has also been upgraded for additional engine
torque and horsepower. The sound is incredibly throaty from the V-12
Engine.
The 1999 Diablo cockpit received a welcome makeover from the factory
that truly made the last year of the SV Diablo a work of art both
inside and out. The Lamborghini's “driveability” was much improved
during the last couple of years with variable valve timing that added
torque and horsepower to both the low and top rpm range of the car.
Larger wheels were also added that enabled larger rotors for an
upgraded braking system along with standard ABS. Ground pounding 530
horsepower will take you to 60 MPH in first gear and then over 100 MPH
before you even shift to third!
This SV has been meticulously cared for by a Lamborghini enthusiast
who knows the Diablo extremely well, and has a passion for them.
