Lamborghini brought the Gallardo to the highest level for 2006 while
producing 250 units for worldwide production with the "all new"
SPECIAL EDITION model. Approximately 25-30% of that production comes
to the US, which puts those numbers at 60-75 "SE"s total for the
United States. This car is believed to be 1 of 2 Orange SE Gallardos
with the six speed manual gearbox. While the e-gear may have the
advantage for a race car driver on a track, the 6 speed allows the
driver the additional versatility for every day driving and fun,
without the complicated electronics of the semi automatic.
The "SE" had three major performance increases for the driving
enthusiast. Higher horsepower along with a "tighter" gearbox increased
acceleration dramatically. The shorter first gear make starts
effortless compared to the higher gearing on previous models. More
precise and direct steering for better response was also incorporated
in the Special Edition.
Many features make the SE very distinguishable compared the normal
production car. Lamborghini accented the mirrors, roof, and wheels, to
give the SE a more aggressive appearance from the factory. The brake
calipers have also been professional painted to match the exterior.
The custom wheels also give this SE an exclusive look like none other!
The interior design brings you back to Lamborghini's original
outrageousness in the exotic market. The two tone concept incorporates
the exterior color in all piping and stitching in the rich black
leather seats. The center console, instrument dial trim, and door
panels continue to enhance the theme. The black mats with the embossed
"Lambo Bull" logo compliment the package. Lamborghini has alway been
"over the top" , and nothing shows your "individualism" like this
radical Gallardo.
The sound of this Gallardo will separate you from the crowd! The 10
cylinder engine has a sound all of its own. The SP Engineering custom
exhaust coupled with the Gruppe intake manifold will bring this beauty
alive when the time arises, while maintaining civil when it comes time
to "behave".
